Career Timeline
- Designed, developed and deployed internal tooling to ensure alignment with security, legal and operational standards for over 70 gaming studios.
- Engineered anti-exfiltration bots that monitored Rockstar's Slack — deleted attachments, prompted secure uploads, and sent leadership reports.
- Architected Splunk and Datadog monitors to alert when anything in Slack gets shared to Rockstar.
- Built a bot that locks Rockstar Slack statuses to a pre-approved list of emojis and texts.
- Evaluated AI tools company-wide (ChatGPT, CoPilot, Gemini, CursorAI, SourceGraph, Glean, Claude). Developed Take-Two's first ChatGPT-powered Slack chatbot for incident management.
- Developed a distributed system to set retention for 1.4 million Slack channels and DMs of 2K users over 8 days — gracefully handling rate limiting with resume capability. System continues to oversee future DMs and channels.
- Built a script using a convolutional neural network to flag inappropriate emoji; HR used it to remove 450 emoji. Generates weekly reports with workflow buttons for easy removal.
- Drove external user strategy by delivering a guest management bot. Slack org owner for 21,000 users.
- Led Slack platform integration for Take-Two's $13B Zynga acquisition — the largest workspace migration in company history. Also oversaw Dots, Hookbang, Dynamixyz, VC Austin, HB Studios, Nordeus, Squad, Roll7, Gram Games and Gearbox.
- Architected and executed workspace consolidation strategy — reduced 70+ workspaces, 500+ apps, and 3,000+ users to a unified 3-workspace architecture.
- Delivered the Emoji Screener Bot — HR and InfoSec used it to administrate over 46,000 emoji uploads.
- Developed the Rockstar Channel Bot — all channels created through this app to enforce naming conventions and permissions. Included workflows to archive, unarchive, rename, and convert channels.
- Lead of Asians in Gaming since 2021, an employee resource group of 100+ people with a $55,000 yearly budget.
- Speaker at internal conferences at Capital One, Splunk, and Take-Two on Slack bot development and deployment.
- Architected and delivered the incident response bot — a Slackbot to assist the NOC with incidents. 99% availability, 90+ incidents remediated.
- Implemented automated testing, alerting, metrics and monitoring for the incident bot. Designed and provisioned the AWS/k8s/Docker infrastructure.
- Designed and implemented a secrets injection pipeline using Terraform, k8s, GitLab, Bash and Vault.
- Maintained an identity and access management portal through Jira, Okta, GitLab and Terraform.
- Contributed to cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure and application development for a Series A startup.
- Refactored the entirety of the poll authoring experience to use Slack's new Block Kit modals API.
- Audited the entire application for SOC II compliance — secondary pen test by Bishop Fox returned no vulnerabilities.
- Pitched, designed and delivered OneView — a MEAN stack application for search, upload, tagging and download of 55 million loan documents. Received 2017 Innovation Team Award.
- Designed and delivered a polling application for upper management — scheduled, anonymized Slack polls. Led a team of 3 devs with a PM over 4 months.
- Automated cybersecurity incident data aggregation through an incident response Slack bot with post-mortem support. Reduced manual toil by 52 minutes per alert (80% decrease) across 30 alerts per week.
- Contributed Java production code to the 3rd party external transactions API — the way Capital One exposed up to 180 days of transactions to vendors.
- Built Dash, a sprint tracking solution. Merged into Hygieia in 2015, an open source agile tracker.
- Developed two React and React-Native iOS components in ES6 for the FDIC. Delivered code and test suite. Components were used for various banking functionalities.
